To demonstrate this principle, the teacher needs to show that they understand about student's learning enough to create tasks for the students that are both enriching and exciting for the student. These tasks must be meaningful and teach what is needed from the standards. The teacher needs to be aware of techniques such as constructivist teaching and inquiry learning and be able to effectively implement these techniques into the classroom to benefit student learning. The teacher must be confident in the content that they intend to teach and be able to teach concepts related to the content to raise the learning to a new level. In addition, the teacher must understand how to effectively control their classroom through discipline, management, and organization so that the content can be taught in a way so that every student in the classroom benefits.
